Apple announces iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

At the Apple event on Wednesday, Apple announced the long awaited iPhone 7. The iPhone 7 includes a handful of new features to make your everyday use with iPhone even better.

Design

The iPhone 7 improves upon the already amazing design of the iPhone 6 and 6s. It's antenna bands wrap around the top and bottom of the phone making it nearly unnoticeable to the eye on the new colors.

iPhone 7 has 2 new colors. This includes a new Black and a gorgeous Jet Black. The Black replaces Space Gray and hosts a matte finish. The Jet Black has a glossy black back curving seamlessly into the display.

Although the camera is bigger, it blends seamlessly into the body of the device.

Water and dust resistance

The iPhone 7 is rated IP67 water and dust resistance. This means you can submerge it into a meter of water without being scared of the phone.

Home Button

Throughout the past year, the Macs have adopted a new Force Touch trackpad. The Force Touch trackpad does not move, but gives a feeling of movement.

The iPhone 7 brings that to the home button. On the new iPhone, the Home Button does not move, but gives that feeling that it is moving. Apple says you can customize the actions of what this button can do.

Camera

The iPhone 7 improves upon the camera a lot. It is a 12 MP camera.

Earlier, the iPhone 6/6s Plus was the only iPhone that included Optical Image Stabilization. Now the has come to the smaller iPhone, the iPhone 7. This does not mean the 5.5 inch iPhone 7 Plus looses this feature.

The iPhone 7 includes a quad-led True Tone Flash. This allows for a better, brighter flash.
It also includes a 7 MP front facing camera.

The iPhone 7 Plus includes a dual camera. Each camera being 12 MP. One camera is used for your normal photo shooting with a 6-element lens. The other camera includes a telephoto lens. This allows for optical zoom. If you don't have this, you are digitally zooming which causes pixelation. However, in this case, you are actually optically zooming in. You can optically zoom till 2x, and digitally zoom 10x.

Retina HD Display

The Retina HD Display has been improved on the new iPhones.

It includes a wide color gamut, it is 25% brighter and includes 3D Touch.

Performance

The iPhone 7 houses an A10 Fusion chip. It is the fastest phone ever with the most single-core score in a smartphone to date.

The A10 Fusion chip has 4 cores. 2 cores are used for light tasks such as checking your e-mail. They run at 1/5 the power of the other two chips. The other 2 chips are using for energy processor intensive tasks.

It also includes the longest lasting iPhone battery ever. It gives more than 2 hours more than the iPhone 6s.

Audio

The iPhone 7 removes the headphone jack. This allows for more space. You can either use Lighting EarPods, the Lightning-3.5mm adapter included in the box, or go wireless and use AirPods.

AirPods are Apple's new wireless earbuds. They have an entire chip and a lot of other tech inside of them. Check out AirPods here.

The iPhone 7 includes Stereo speakers. One at the top and one at the bottom. This allows for better sound. It is twice as loud as the 6s was.

An even better travel phone

The iPhone 7 supports up to 450 Mbps of LTE speed. That's 3x faster LTE than the iPhone 6. It also supports 25 LTE bands making it a great travel phone.

The iPhone 7 will be available on September 16. It is available for pre-order now. It costs the same as the iPhone 6s starting at $649 for double the capacity as before.

Apple has started production of iPhone SE in India. Shipping later in May.

This post is taken from  9to5Mac . In the US, the  iPhone SE sells in two flavors , a 32 GB and 128 GB model for $399 and $499 respectively. Third-party Indian resellers already undercut that price point, selling iPhone SE around the $320 mark. Apple was  effectively forced into setting up domestic manufacturing  in order to launch Indian retail stores, as India laws state that companies wanting a retail presence must source at least 30% of their goods locally. According to the Wall Street Journal, government officials hope to see the India iPhone SE sell for even less in its home country. There are obviously some cost savings for Apple to take advantage of by producing domestically and local government reportedly believes Apple could sell its iPhone for as low as $220 (converted to Indian currency). Apple typically does not like to price its devices differently based on region, however, so final pricing is unknown. However, Apple may be more lenient with its pr
